Notes: Although this is a Dean mix, you might notice that a lot of the songs revolve around Dean's relationship with Sam. This is because for much of the series, Dean bases his identity on his relationship with Sam.

So, I think Jack and Ianto are quite possibly television’s most adorable couple … but ultimately, I want Jack to end up with the Doctor. In terms of getting screwed over for falling in love with the Doctor, Rose and Martha have nothing on Jack. He sacrificed everything for the Doctor, and in return got abandoned and left to spend over 130 years trying to find him again. And then the Doctor tried to run out on him again. Because the Doctor is an idiot. Jack is obviously perfect for him. Re-watching Series 1 of Doctor Who just confirmed that the Doctor and Jack were just so good for each other. Seriously, they work so well together (“Let’s do it.”); and now that Jack is immortal, he can literally travel with the Doctor forever, and the Doctor can stop angsting about how he always has to go on alone. I would like nothing more than for the Doctor to stop being an idiot and realize this. Anyway, with that in mind, I made a mix for Jack’s story arc of meeting the Doctor, getting abandoned, joining Torchwood, waiting for the Doctor, and finally finding him again.

Right. So Thanksgiving is Thursday, and all my friends keep going on about how excited they are to go home, and … it hurts, frankly, because I don’t get to go home. I keep trying to think positive, like, “Less than a month!” and “It wouldn’t be worth it, anyway,” and “I’ll have more fun at my roommate’s,” and those are all true, but … I still get homesick. And it’s not even about not getting to go home, it’s why I can’t go home, and how going home isn’t even going home anyway. And I just keep thinking about all those stupid, boring Thanksgivings with just the five of us – me, my mom, my sisters, and my grandma – and …

Anyway, in my emo-ness and self-pity, I made a mix, not just about homesickness, but also about going out on your own, but still wanting an anchor to come back to, and the ache when that isn’t there. So yes.
