Oct. 2nd, 2007 12:22 pmDear Idiot in Charge of the Caf Announcement Board,
I am writing to you because I am greatly concerned about the quality of writing on the scrolling light announcement board in the cafeteria. All last week it advertised the volleyball game played "Saterday". This week, it jokes, "Your late for class." Sir, this is university. Not having spell check is no excuse for misspelling a day of the week or ignoring basic grammar. By first grade everyone should know how to spell "Saturday". "Your late." My late what? Why are contractions so difficult for people who were accepted to a private university? If I was a prospective student visiting this campus, and I saw the poor language skills utilized on that board, I would stop considering this university immediately. After all, how high are our academic standards if we can't even spell a day of the week? Doesn't anyone proofread these things? Doesn't anyone care?
