Shopping and stuff...
Sep. 1st, 2005 11:21 pmWent shopping with Camryn today. Refused shift offers at both my jobs because it was her only day off to do so. I was actually very successful: I got my one pair of jeans (the pair that will last me until next September; I only buy one pair of jeans a year; gross to some, but when you’re on a budget, it works), a skirt for school, and three shirts. One shirt is plain black, but a cute style. One says Brunette is the new Blonde, which I got for the pure irony that my hair used to be blonde but darkened to brown a few years ago, and everyone in my family still insists that it’s blonde (I don’t think it’s actually brunette, but it’s definitely not blonde, and since I don’t know what brunette actually is, I figured it didn’t matter that much). The final one says Waiting to be discovered on it. I came home and wrote a poem based on that shirt. Poem sucked, but the shirt’s cute, and that’s the only thing anyone besides myself will ever see. My day was ruined by my grandmother telling me I was doomed to a miserable life in Africa, and then proceeding to make up a song about this and singing it to me off-key while I was trapped in her car. Fun times, my friends, fun times.

Deep Thought of the Day: I remember being really little, and standing on the kitchen stool and staring down at the space between my eyes and the linoleum floor and thinking, “When I’m this tall, I’ll be happy with my life.” I’m probably taller than that now, and guess what? Ain’t that happy. ~ Jenna Anderson
